In short
Packaging is the part of your brand a customer holds, reads and keeps on the kitchen counter. We design it for Sharjah food producers, importers, restaurants, cafés and retail brands from our Muweilah office: takeaway boxes and cups, retail pouches and jars, labels, and the shelf layout that makes a range look like a range. We plan the Arabic and English panels, the information a pack has to carry and the production method together, because Abcon Group includes packaging and printing companies and we know what a design costs the printer in colours, folds and waste. You can bring a sample pack and your competitors’ products to the office, and we will work through the structure on the table.

What is included
What packaging design covers for Sharjah brands
The job depends on whether you sell food to be eaten today or a product that will sit on a shelf for months. Typically the work covers:
01
Takeaway and delivery packaging
Boxes, cups, bags, wrappers, sleeves and sauce sachets for restaurants and cafés, designed as a set.
02
Retail packaging
Pouches, jars, cartons, tins and bottles for products sold through supermarkets, groceries and online.
03
Range architecture
How flavours, sizes and product lines are told apart, so a shopper finds the right one quickly and a new variant slots in without a redesign.
04
Arabic and English panels
Front-of-pack, back-of-pack and information panels with both languages laid out for legibility, not squeezed in.
05
Labels and required information
Space for ingredients, weights, dates, barcodes and origin, with the legal content supplied by you and checked against the rules that apply to your product.
06
Patterns and wraps
Brand patterns for tissue, paper bags, cup sleeves and tape that make plain packaging recognisable.
07
Structure and dieline work
Working from the printer’s or packaging maker’s dieline, so the artwork lands on the folds, seams and windows correctly.
08
Production artwork
Print-ready files with colour breaks, finishes and proofs checked before the press runs.

When it helps
What changes for packaging in Sharjah
01
A factory economy.
Manufacturing contributed 16.7% of Sharjah’s GDP in 2023 according to figures on our UAE statistics page. A pack from a local producer has to stand beside imported products and other local ones on the same shelf.
02
Trade shapes the shelf.
Wholesale and retail trade was the largest sector at 24% of GDP in the same year. Products arrive in supermarkets and groceries beside plenty of competitors, so the pack has to work in three seconds.
03
Many languages, one pack.
In the Sharjah Census 2025, 89% of residents were non-citizens (see our statistics page). Clear hierarchy and good iconography help a pack communicate beyond the two printed languages.
04
Restaurants that deliver.
Aghadeer, whose identity we designed, has a restaurant in Al Nahda, Sharjah. A venue like that needs packaging that survives a delivery bag and still looks like the restaurant when it arrives.
05
Print runs and waste.
A design that needs six colours and a special finish can quietly double what the printer charges. We design with the run in mind, so the beautiful version is also the affordable one.
06
New product, new licence.
Sharjah issued 4,597 new business licences in the first half of 2026, according to the Sharjah Economic Development Department. New food brands often start with a rushed label, then need a proper system when a second product arrives.
Process
How we work on packaging design in Sharjah
Every project follows the same four stages. This is what they mean here. Read more about our process.
01
Diagnose
We begin with the product and where it is sold: your sample pack, the shelf or counter it sits on, and the competitors beside it. We look at the production route, the volumes and the information the pack must carry, then agree the structure and the languages.
02
Architect
We design the pack as part of the brand: colour, pattern, hierarchy and the rule for adding a new item. We test it flat and as a mock-up on the real structure, in the context where it is seen, and adjust before it goes anywhere near a press.
03
Deploy
We prepare production artwork to the dieline and work with the printer, including the companies in Abcon Group, to check proofs, colours and finishes. You receive files that a printer can run without guessing.
04
Compound
As the menu or the range grows, new items join the same system, so the tenth product looks as considered as the first.

What shapes the cost of packaging design in Sharjah
We quote every project after a first conversation, so the proposal matches what the business needs. These are the things that move the cost and the timeline most.
A single label is a different job from a full takeaway set or a range of twelve flavours.
Structure
Using a standard box, cup or pouch is simpler than designing a custom shape and dieline.
Languages and information
Bilingual panels, nutrition tables and certification marks add layout work.
Print method and finish
The number of colours, foils and special finishes affects both the artwork and the printer’s charge.
Photography and illustration
If the pack needs product images or custom illustration, that is scoped and quoted alongside the design.
Production and quantity
Printing and conversion are charged by the supplier and depend on volume and materials.

Do you design packaging for food manufacturers in Sharjah?
Yes. We work on retail packs, labels and ranges for food products, and on takeaway packaging for restaurants and cafés. We design the artwork and layout. Legal content such as ingredients, allergens and origin comes from you and should be checked against the rules for your product before printing.
Can we review the dieline and samples with you in person?
Yes. Bring your sample packs, any dielines from the printer and the competitor products you want to stand beside to our Muweilah office. Being able to hold the structure while we talk saves several rounds of email.
Can you also print the packaging?
We design it, and Abcon Group includes packaging and printing companies, including Alfapack, GPack and German Printing Press, so production can be discussed through the group. You can also give our artwork to your own printer.
Do we need a brand identity before we do packaging?
Not always. If the logo and colours exist, we design from them. If they do not, we will usually suggest settling the identity first, because the pack then carries it instead of inventing it.
Can you design Arabic and English panels that stay readable?
Yes. We set the hierarchy so the product name is clear in each language and the required information has room. Arabic type is chosen to match the Latin, and we check small text at actual size.
We have a range of products. How do you keep it consistent?
We build a system: a layout, a colour rule for each variant and a pattern or symbol. A new flavour is then a controlled change, not a new design.
What happens if the printer’s proof looks different from the screen?
Colours print differently on different materials, so we ask for proofs on the real stock and check them against the artwork. If something needs adjusting, we adjust the file before the full run.
What should we share before a packaging design project in Sharjah?
Tell us what the product is, where it is sold and in what quantities. Share your logo files, a sample of any current pack, dielines from the packaging maker if you have them, the information that must appear on the pack and photos of competitors on the shelf. Tell us who approves the artwork.
Do you work with businesses in Abu Dhabi and the other emirates?
Yes. We work with businesses in Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain from our head office in Al Qusais, Dubai, and our office in Muweilah, Sharjah. We do not have an office in Abu Dhabi. Meetings happen in person at either of our offices, or online, whichever suits the project. Abcon Group also works in Oman.
